FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. What is JEMS?
    • JEMS or Jubilee Event Management System will be used for all Diamond Jubilee Programs to register, allocate, assign and sign-in/sign-out volunteers.
  2. Can I select where and which days I can serve?
    • Yes. JEMS allows you to select your service day(s) along with preferred areas of interest. Please note that selecting an area of interest does not guarantee duty assignment in that area. Volunteers will have the opportunity to serve on multiple days for any given program.
  3. Do I have to serve the entire day?
    • No. JEMS allows you to identify your availability for any program by selecting the start and end time in which you would like to serve.
  4. Can I serve with my family and friends?
    • In JEMS, duty assignments are optimized for the event with all volunteer’s duty preferences and availability in mind; therefore, assignments are primarily auto- generated and not manually assigned thus, we cannot control grouping of volunteers.
  5. Can I have multiple duty roles?
    • Yes. You may serve in multiple areas as long as it is not during the same shift and time.
  6. I am a uniformed VRM volunteer, do I still have to sign-up to serve in Diamond Jubilee Programs?
    • Yes, all uniform and non-uniform volunteers who wish to serve in Diamond Jubilee Programs must register via JEMS.
  7. I am a non-uniform volunteer, can I still sign-up to serve in Diamond Jubilee Programs?
    • Yes, registration is open for all interested Jamati members (uniform and non-uniform) 8 years and above willing to serve during Diamond Jubilee year.
  8. Are there volunteer opportunities for interfaith family members?
    • Absolutely. Interfaith family members willing to serve can also register via JEMS.
  9. When will I find out where/when my duty is assigned?
    • You will be notified via email/text message as early as possible before the event date where your duty is assigned in addition to your reporting time.
  10. Can I change my duty preference?
    • Yes, you can change your duty preference online on JEMS at any time.
  11. What happens after I have registered myself in JEMS?
    • All registered volunteers will be provided with a unique Diamond Jubilee Volunteer ID for sign-in/sign-out purposes. IDs can be picked up from the Diamond Jubilee Volunteer Registration table. Please look-out for announcements when the IDs are ready for pick-up.

  14. I am a non-uniform volunteer; do I have to buy a VRM volunteer uniform?
    • No, non-uniform volunteers and Jamati members are not required to purchase a VRM uniform. You will be notified about your dress code once duties are assigned.
  15. If I decide to serve on the day of the event spontaneously, will I get an opportunity to serve?
    • Yes, our intent is to accommodate and find opportunities for all members interested in serving. However, your allocation will be based on need and not preference. Thus, we encourage all interested members to register as soon as possible.
  16. Do I need a valid email address to register?
    • Yes, you must ensure a valid email address is entered in the initial registration process otherwise the verification email will bounce back.

    • No, you must utilize the JEMS tab in IUSA & not the VRM tab.
