All Jamati members interested in volunteering during any Diamond Jubilee programs must create a profile at The Ismaili USA (IUSA) website and use Jubilee Event Management System (JEMS) to record their duty preferences, register for training, and review their duty assignments. This document is divided into six sections as outlined below, within which are step-by-step directions.

Note: If you already have a valid IUSA account, skip Section A.

Section A: Steps to register with The Ismaili USA (IUSA):
  1. Visit https://www.theIsmailiUSA.org - IUSA website.
  2. If you are a new user, click on “Register” on top right-hand corner OR under Account Login section of the home page.
  3. Create your account using your primary email address, a strong password and enter a display name. You will be able to register multiple members of your family under the same email address; however, we recommend that, if possible, each member should register using his or her own email address.
  4. Once submitted, close the browser and check your email inbox for a link to validate your email address.
  5. Click on the secure link – this will take you to IUSA login page where you can login with your email address and password that you created during Step 4.
  6. Once logged in, you will be required to complete a profile page. All required fields are clearly marked. Pay close attention to these fields as they are used to verify your profile and provide training options and duty assignment(s).
  7. Once you submit the profile form, IUSA will search existing systems for a matching profile and if a match is found, it will display all profiles found. You will have an option to pick one of the profiles to import OR start with a clean profile. This is the one and only time this option will be provided so, please consider your choice carefully.
  8. If the system is unable to find a match, you will need to send an email to [email protected] so your account can be authenticated, OR you may visit Council Corner / Access Desk in your Jamatkhana, so volunteers can authenticate your account. For email requests, please allow up to 48 hours for a response.
Section B: Steps to add family members to your profile:
  1. Login to IUSA using your email address and password.
  2. Click on your display name in top right-hand corner – this will bring up your profile.
  3. Under Family section, click on “+” sign to add new family member. This profile form is the same as the profile form you completed for your own profile with an addition to identify your relationship to the person.
  4. If the member you added as your family is already a registered IUSA user, the system will add the member to your profile as “view only” access – an eye symbol will be shown against their name under the family to show that you can only view this profile.
    • An email will be sent to the family member to either “approve” the edit access or simply leave access as view only.
    • If the member approves, the eye symbol will be replaced with a pencil symbol to show that you can now edit their profile.
  5. To approve or takeaway edit rights, click on “Share your profile” button next to your profile – this will list all individuals that have added you as their family. You can check the person that can edit your profile – shown by a check against their name OR you can take away edit rights by clicking on their name – shown by a cross against their name.
  6. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] with clear description of issue you are facing, and a response will be provided to you within 48 hours.
Section C: Steps to access Jubilee Event Management System (JEMS):
  1. Login to IUSA using your email address and password.
  2. Click on JEMS – shown on the top menu bar. If you have family members registered under your profile that are ages 8 and above, a drop down will be shown for you to select which profile you want to access JEMS with – select one profile and click “Continue.” If you only have your own profile, no drop down will be shown, and you will be directly taken to JEMS.
  3. When you visit JEMS the first time, you will be shown an agreement, waiver, and release statement – if you chose to continue, click “Accept” button OR you may choose to “Decline”. Please note that you will only be able to proceed with JEMS once you accept the statement shown.
  4. The following three unique sections are now displayed. Follow the steps within respective sections for details.
Section D: Steps to add Volunteer Preference in JEMS:
  1. Login to IUSA using your email address and password and click on JEMS on the top menu bar.
  2. To add a duty preference, click on “Add Preference” button which will allow you to pick an event. “All Event” is used to record your general preferences. There are no limits to how many service types you can select; however, each one must be entered on its own.
  3. Identify the “Service Type Category” first to filter the “Service Types”. Once you find the service type you want to serve at, click “Add Preference.” Repeat this step for all service types that you wish to provide your service at. Note: These are your preferences only – this does not guarantee duty assignments. You should only select service types that you can truly perform and have interest in providing your voluntary service.
  4. In the future, the event dropdown will show events that are available for you. Once the events are published, there will be a list of service types that are planned by event management team along with start and end date(s)/time(s) when volunteers are needed. You will be able to provide your availability by each service type for the event.
  5. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] with clear description of issue you are facing, and a response will be provided to you within 48 hours.
Section E: Steps to Sign Up for Training in JEMS:
  1. Login to IUSA using your email address and password and click on JEMS on the top menu bar.
  2. Under the “Trainings Sign Up” section, you will see all the training options that are available to you based on your service type preferences and Jamatkhana identified in your profile.
  3. To sign up for a training, click on reserve that appears on the left side next to the training. Each training has a capacity limit which indicates the number of remaining spots for that training. When all spots for the training are full, you will not be able to sign up for that training.
  4. To cancel for a training, simply click on cancel next to the training to release your spot.
  5. Remember to sign up for training where you will be able to attend – please do not simply sign up for training and not show up. This will ensure we are able to provide necessary training to all volunteers.
  6. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] with clear description of issue you are facing, and a response will be provided to you within 48 hours.
Section F: Steps to Review your Upcoming Duty Assignments in JEMS:
  1. Login to IUSA using your email address and password and click on JEMS on the top menu bar.
  2. Under the “Upcoming Duty Assignments” section, you will see all the duties you have been assigned to you with start and end date(s) / time(s) for each duty. If you are unable to perform one or more duties for any reason, simply click “Decline.” Please note that you will not be assigned to the same duty assignment in case your availability changes – this is to allow all volunteers an equal opportunity to serve.
  3. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] with clear description of issue you are facing, and a response will be provided to you within 48 hours.
